Extra-Curricular and Summer Programs

Our Summer Program blends joyful exploration with meaningful learning. Whether your child is continuing from our academic year or joining just for the summer, our sessions provide hands-on, interactive opportunities to apply and extend concepts in a relaxed, engaging environment.

This summer, children traveled the world, exploring a different country each week. From Italy, to Costa Rica, to Egypt, Brazil, Mexico, and China, our students explored the cuisine, culture, history, music, art, and geography of the region. Each experience is designed to support creativity, independence, and collaboration while nurturing developmental milestones.

The Elementary Summer Program offers increasing choice, responsibility, and collaboration—mirroring the Montessori approach while making summer learning feel like summer fun.

Enrich the Journey with Our Exciting Extracurriculars!
At Modern Montessori, learning doesn’t stop at the core curriculum. Our extracurricular offerings are a chance for students to explore passions, try new things, and grow in joyful, unexpected ways.

For the Spring 2026 semester we are excited to offer:

  • Conversational Spanish: Mondays
Back by popular demand, Conversational Spanish introduces students to practical, spoken language in a warm and engaging way. Through games, stories, and real-life situations, students build confidence, curiosity, and a growing appreciation for language in an increasingly global world.

  • Drama/Theater: Tuesdays
Have a budding performer, storyteller, or behind-the-scenes creator? Drama encourages confidence, collaboration, and imagination. Students explore acting, storytelling, and theatrical expression while learning to work together, take creative risks, and bring ideas to life, whether they love the spotlight or prefer shaping the magic from the wings.

  • STEM Studio: Tuesdays
STEM Studio is designed for students who enjoy problem-solving, experimentation, and understanding how things work. Through hands-on challenges and guided exploration, students engage with the engineering design process as they build, test, revise, and refine their ideas. Each session encourages curiosity, persistence, and creative thinking while helping students deepen their understanding of the world around them.

  • Sports Strategies and Statistics: Wednesdays
Sports become a gateway to discovery as students explore the math, history, and stories behind the games they love. From simple statistics to legendary athletes, this course highlights strategy, perseverance, and what it really means to grow through practice, teamwork, and effort.

  • Mindfulness: Wednesdays
Mindfulness offers a calm and supportive space for students to pause and reset. Through simple breathing exercises, gentle movement, guided imagery, reflection, and occasional creative activities, students develop focus, self-awareness, and practical calming strategies they can carry into their daily learning.

  • Story Studio: Wednesdays
Have a story lover? This club offers students a shared space to explore engaging, age-appropriate literature through thoughtful discussion and connection. Students analyze characters, themes, and plot development while learning to listen, reflect, and express their ideas. When inspiration strikes, students may also explore creative writing inspired by the books they read, strengthening both comprehension and imagination.

  • Art History: Thursdays
For students who love to sketch, paint, or simply wonder, Art History brings creativity to life. Students explore influential artists and artistic movements while creating their own works, discovering how art has shaped the world and how their own ideas can take shape through artistic expression.

  • Video Game Design: Thursdays

Video Game Studio introduces students to the creative process behind the games they love. Through hands-on projects, students explore the basics of game design, including simple coding, character development, level design, and logical problem-solving. With an emphasis on creativity, experimentation, and iteration, this studio supports beginners while encouraging students to turn ideas into playable experiences.

Each session is 45- 60 minutes long and runs for a full 15-week semester. There is a separate fee for each class and sibling discounts are available. Materials lists will be provided.

Each semester’s offerings evolve based on student interest.
